Jamez Amour Bash, MSEd, LPC (she/her)

Hi! My name is Jamez Amour Bash. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I’m so glad you found my website. Taking the step to look for a therapist is a big one, you should be so proud of yourself for asking for help because it is nowhere near easy.

I became a therapist for several reasons, the most important being that I know what life feels like at our lowest moments. There was one therapist I work with personally for 3 year, and during that time my therapist helped me completely change my outlook on life. I hope I can help you do the same.

I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University where I studied Theatre, Psychology, and Women’s and Gender studies. I then received a Master’s Degree from Fordham University in Mental Health Counseling. Currently, I am a doctoral student at Holy Family University pursuing a PsyD in Counseling Psychology. My clinical background includes working as a counselor in community mental health settings, private practice, and college counseling centers. In 2021, I was awarded an American Psychology Association Services for Transition Age Youth (STAY) Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) Fellowship.

Professionally I have extensive specialized training and experience in treating trauma survivors of all backgrounds. I am also a Sickle Cell Warrior and focus on treating clients with chronic pain/illness and their caregivers. One last thing, if you happen to have ADHD- you probably found my profile for a reason. I especially enjoy working with clients who struggle with executive function on top of symptoms of trauma and chronic illness. I believe in the continuous pursuit of knowledge and skills training to better serve my clients. I employ evidence-based practices including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Attachment Style, Feminist, and Mindfulness Interventions.

I prioritized creating a collaborative, trusting, and safe therapeutic relationship with each of my clients. My intention during every session is to be fully present with you for the entirety of our time together. Above all, I honor how trauma impacts our lives and our bodies. I acknowledge that even with the best of intentions I have the potential to cause harm, therefore I strive to remain mindful of my words and actions and the impact they may have. We don't always need to be strong, we need to be seen and heard. Living with ADHD, trauma, and chronic illness often means being dismissed by those around you. If you allow me, I hope to carry these burdens alongside you.
